I'm currently a week into my 3 weeks of long service leave. Mostly I've been very lazy, read a lot of fanfic and watched a lot of Hawaii Five-0.
After taking about 7 years to get through the first season, I'm now early into season four after 2 weeks. Hawaii Five-0 actually teaches me a lot about my TV viewing habits. I use cop shows to unwind, but Five-0 has had fairly emotionally heavy storylines that I find awkward to watch from the start. Which is NOT relaxing. I have to admit to get as far as I have in the last fortnight, I've made use of the fast forward button times. But I adore the characters so I continue watching.
I have done a lot of singing this week. I made it to choir practice for the first time this year about 3 weeks ago. We had a daytime performance yesterday, which, being on leave, I was actually able to do. It was a lot of fun and went really well, while being for a good cause. It was part of an all day music programme called Jam of Refugees that the host church does yearly to raise money for refugee advocacy and support service. Being an opinionated bunch of women, of course we had the prefect songs in our repertoire. *winks*
Today was the all day singing workshop that we rn once a year. It was fun, but somewhat overwhelming as I'm an aural learner and catching what note I'm supposed to be singing when we're sight reading through new material is difficult for me. I very much appreciate our guest tutor Jenny's song choice as usual. This time she threw us For Good from Wicked, Africa by Toto and Hello by Adele. All songs I really like.
This coming week I need to actually be productive, as I've my final Gothic Lit essay due on the weekend which I have not started yet. Um. I have ideas, just no actually supporting research or words on the page yet. *sheepish*
